July 1990 - 2001	Bernajean Porter Consulting Professional speaking, consulting, facilitating and project management. Managing large scale projects with businesses and schools on vision planning, community action, team building, designing and implementing technology plans and staff development programs, technology and learning evaluations, as well as consensus building, effective participatory meetings and facilitation training for leaders and managers leading out change.
January 1996 -2000	ILLINOIS STATE BOARD OF ED Community-based Planning for Economically Challenged School Districts Project / IL NextSteps Evaluation Toolkit. Project Director designing and implementing a community-based planning approach for 78 school districts developing Blueprints for Technology and Learning with a peer review process. This model of planning and assessment is now expanded throughout the state for 903 school districts. Developer / trainer of state-wide technology evaluation tools, IL NextSteps, being launched Fall, 2000
August 1995 -1998	NSF-DODEA-Hanau, Germany Model School Project Consultant working with TERC, Cambridge, MA to develop and assess a model school community-based plan that identifies the role of technology in broadening student learning in the schools for military dependents. This project is expected to vanguard a process throughout the international Dodea school sites.
October 1984 - July 1990	COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF ED Technology Consultant and Change Facilitator responsible for designing technology plans with 173 school districts to support school restructuring initiatives. Leading district planning teams, developing mission statements & action plans.

Authored Grappling with Accountability 2002 : MAPPing Tools for Organizing and Assessing Technology for Student Results. A comprehensive text and CD-ROM guiding groups with a step-by-step process to develop and implement their own data collection process. Instructor for NSBA online course: Grappling with Accountabillity. Conducted Clark County Schools, NV technology staff development needs assessment. CCSD has 200,000 students, 12,00 teachers, and 215 buildings. Project Manager for Denver Public Schools' Technology Planning including needs assessment and community-based visioning. Denver district has 65,000 students, 4000 teachers, and 127 buildings. Expert Panel Member: President Clinton's Education Technology Panel for policy decisions; PBS teleconfer-ence on Education Technology Planning. Conducted Jefferson County Schools, CO needs assessment and implementation planning for instructional technology and staff development.
